Money Everywhere

For years I have paid school tuition. For a while it seemed like an endless train of due dates, fundraisers, supplies… Repeat. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I realize to have been able to do so has been a gift.

One of the great things about investing in your kids education is what they bring you back in the form of expanded knowledge and ideas from the contemporary culture, not to mention the prospect of independence and quality living that awaits them.

As a matter of fact, as I watch my daughter evolve, I marvel at how much more she knows and is capable of, then when I was her exact age. This is a phenomenon I celebrate.

So, when she was home over this past Christmas, during one of the many times we were all in the kitchen, I was unaware of her gathering coins. You know, the coins that we unconsciously allow to lay in places all around the house. On counter tops, shelves and some, yes, even on the floor. I didn’t process what was happening until she declared in a scolding tone “You guys have money everywhere!”

It resonated loudly. Especially since I knew the reality of my current holdings…I definitely did not feel like I “had money everywhere”, but she was right. I could hear the weight of what she had gathered in her hand and I was convicted… Humph, money everywhere.

If you have thoughts of, and plans for more money, respect the money you already have. #Counsel4Living
