And what about us?

I discovered this fact from Nova yesterday on social media: Nearly 90% of all deep-sea species shine from within. image

Reading this begged the question, what about the human species? If 90% of deep-sea creatures are equipped with light to traverse the darkest depths of the sea, what about us humans? We need a light! We need light to see our way in dark places. We need light to energize our bodies and nourish our bones. We need inner light to propel us forward with hope when uncertainties abound. From whence cometh our light?

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105

“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of Life.” John 8:12

Lean toward the light

Regular conversations with unhealthy people can make you feel bad. Consider interacting with someone who brings light to dark spaces. You know who that is, when you talk to them or even think of them you feel better. Lean toward the light today. If you don’t have any light-bearing friends, download my devotional for a paradigm shift.

Just a thought…

Use what you don’t like about your life and turn it into something beneficial.

Well, it’s Saturday and I’m reviewing this weeks posts to ensure I followed my own counsel before I share today. So, let’s see, this week I…

Worked out (everyday, but one)
Pursued uncomplicated endeavors
Prepared a simple meal and smiled
Enjoyed my guests
Voiced my notes of thanks at the thanksgiving table
Laughed a lot (my family is known for that)
Baked cookies
Watched two animated movies (love those)

Ok, I added the last three, for fun 🙂 . So how did you fare this week? Share whatever you’d like, let me know if you want a response or just treasure it in your heart. It’s your memory. Just take some time before the new week begins to reflect on the good things (anything good) you experienced this week and say aloud “I’m thankful for…..”.

Expressed gratitude heals the heart. #Counsel4Living

Note: If your thanksgiving week experience finds you needing recovery, check back next week, when I’ll post some help for the hurting. ✌️

Rest and trust

As soon as you loosen your hold on a matter, it’s free to evolve into what it’s meant to be. Stop fretting and trust God. #Counsel4Living

Mark 6:39 (Amp) Then He commanded the people all to recline on the green grass by companies.
Psalm 23:2 (Amp) He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
